ADTRAN's patented Expert ISDN automatically detects the telephone company parameters such as Switch Type and SPID numbers. In areas where the telephone company automatically downloads this information to the modem, the units becomes plug-and-play with the ISDN line. The Express series supports two analog devices such as telephone, fax machine, or analog modem in addition to the computer connection for data transmissions on the Express 3000. When transmitting data at maximum throughput over both B channels using Multilink PPP, the unit automatically detects calls on the analog ports. Upon detection, the data speed is adjusted to 64 kbps using one B channel and accepts the analog/voice call, on the other B channel. Upon completion of the analog/voice call, the data automatically resumes transfer over both B channels. Remote configuration allows MIS managers the flexibility of adjusting the configuration of remote units over the ISDN line. The Express transmits data over an RS-232 interface and transfers synchronous data at rates from 2400 to 128 kbps (Express 3010 only) and asynchronous data at rates from 1200 bps to 230.4 kbps. At rates over 64 kbps, BONDing or MLPPP is used to synchronize the data across the two B channels. Configuration of the unit is achieved using a VT 100 interface or AT commands. Dialing is initiated in-band over the RS-232 interface using AT commands, V.25 bis or DTR assertion.

ADTRAN Total Access 750 - Modular expansion base - external - 7 / 7 from Buy.com
|
As competition for dial tone heightens, service providers must find integrated access devices that allow cost-effective deployment of voice and data services at the customer's premises. ADTRAN answers this call with the Total Access 750 (TA 750) product line. The TA 750 provides seven slots for the user to combine a variety of voice and data services based on the specific requirements of each application. Up to six Quad FXS or FXO access modules provide up to 24 analog voice lines. The design of the TA 750 lends itself to cost-efficient growth or a grow as you go architecture. Many applications require only a limited amount of analog circuits and, therefore, do not warrant purchasing or installing 12 or 24 ports as required with other non-modular designs. The benefits of the TA 750 modularity are also found in cost-per-port comparisons and data applications. Because a provider only installs the amount of voice ports needed for the subject application, initial turn-up cost and per-port cost are lower. When maintenance becomes necessary, the TA 750 design allows technicians to reach the access modules, commons, power supplies, and battery back-up system easily. Access modules are hot swappable and accessible at all times. An individual access module may be replaced without disrupting other units. So, the 4-circuit-per-card design ensures a maximum of only four analog circuits are affected when replacing a channel unit (as opposed to 12 with other non-modular systems). The Foreign Exchange Office (FXO) and Foreign Exchange Subscriber (FXS) modules are used in the Total Access 750 (TA 750) and 1500 to provide analog voice extension. The two units may be used in a back-to-back configuration. Four analog voice ports on the FXO/FXS access modules provide four individual connections to the switch or customer telephones. The units support standard loop start, ground start, and TR-08 signaling options. In addition to these signaling states, the FXS supports E&M to wink start, E&M to ground start, and several immediate start signaling states. Direct Inward Dial (DID) applications are supported with the Dial Pulse Terminate (DPT) and Dial Pulse Originate (DPO) functionality found on the FXO and FXS, respectively. A unique feature of the FXS access module is the automatic gain provisioning option. This feature automatically adjusts the gain for short and long loops, therefore expediting installation time and decreasing provisioning errors. The auto gain feature may be overridden as a software function via the craft interface. This configuration includes 24 FXS slot chassis, BCU, AC PSU and 6 Quad FXS modules.
